6 ways to watch YouTube videos without entering YouTube

Do you sometimes get tired of YouTube? No, we don’t mean weary of the ocean of YouTube content. We are talking about the interface of the YouTube music and video multimedia platform, with its suggestions, comments and clutter. The interface is too complicated. But did you know that it is possible to watch YouTube videos on other websites without going to YouTube?

You can use alternative YouTube links, sites, and apps to view content without going to YouTube.com. Next, we indicate how to watch YouTube videos without entering YouTube.

1. Toogles

Toogles is a fast and minimal alternative interface for YouTube. The main page offers trending videos in various categories, but you can also search for specific videos, which load almost instantly. You can use the site to view any YouTube video that is not geo-blocked in your area.

The display interface is fast too. No comments, recommended videos and no other clutter. It means that nothing is going to take valuable bandwidth from the main task of playing your video ASAP.

The description and metadata of the video are displayed in the left panel. If you want to see the related videos, you can click the tab in the upper left corner when you are ready to take a look. Toogles even has a Chrome extension for a faster way to search.

If you have a slow internet connection and often run out of patience while waiting for YouTube to load, you should give Toogles a try.

2. ViewPure

ViewPure is another way to watch YouTube videos without logging into YouTube itself. Like Toggles, it removes all the junk that can make the YouTube viewing experience so frustrating – no comments, suggestions, or other distractions. The site also remove ads from videos, which makes it ideal for use in classrooms or at home with children.

Some other cool features of ViewPure include Custom urls (which are better for sharing and memorizing than random YouTube URLs) and a bookmark. The bookmarklet can be used to open any video in ViewPure while watching it on the main YouTube site. There is also a switch to toggle between a black and white background while watching content.

3. VLC

One of the most forgotten ways to watch YouTube is bypassing the browser entirely. Instead, you can use a specialized video player app that will stream videos directly from a URL. VLC is probably the best known player of this type, but there are many other video players for Android, iOS and desktop that provide the same functionality.

Using VLC to watch YouTube is easy. Just make sure you are using the full version of the video player instead of the simplified version from Microsoft Store.

To play the video, go to Media> Open network stream and paste the full YouTube URL for the specific video you want to watch. When you’re ready, hit the Play button and let the stream load and buffer for a few seconds.

4. DF Tube

DF Tube, short for Distraction-Free Tube, is a Chrome browser extension that allows you to enhance the original YouTube site instead of offering an alternate YouTube URL.

The tool allows you to hide the YouTube feed, hide «Related Videos» that appear at the end of the video you are currently watching, hide the sidebar, hide playlists, hide comments, hide the subscription bar, hide live chat, hide the trending tab, and disable autoplay. You can even use it to disable playlists.

We think the last feature is especially noteworthy. One of the most annoying aspects of using YouTube is when you find a video you want to watch, only to find it buried in the middle of a 100-video junk playlist.

5. Codes

Kodi is another way that you can watch YouTube videos without YouTube and outside of your browser. For those who don’t know, Kodi is a free media player which has free movie plugins, IPTV plugins, live news plugins and yes, you guessed it, YouTube plugins.

Best Kodi Plugin for YouTube is not an official YouTube / Google app. However, you will be able to find and download it from the official Kodi repository, which means that the Kodi developers have examined it and found the add-on to be stable and reliable enough for widespread use.

The plugin offers many of the same features you’ll find at YouTube’s main URL, including a way to add videos to your Watch Later list, add videos to personal playlists, support for likes and dislikes, and a Subscribe button.

6. NSFWYouTube

Despite the connotations of the name, NSFWYouTube is actually a tool that allows you to watch any YouTube video, regardless of age restrictions, without logging into your account (or even having an account).

This has some benefits. For example, if you’re on a public computer, you might not feel comfortable logging into your account just to watch an age-restricted video. It could also provide a solution in case YouTube has been blocked on your local network by your school or employer.

To use NSFWYouTube, you don’t even need to visit the site.

Just find a YouTube video that you can’t watch without logging in and type nsfw before youtube in the address (that is, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vhsng72lC4s would become https://www.nsfwyoutube.com/ver? v = Vhsng72lC4).

Alternatively, take the bookmark and click on it every time you find a blocked video on the main site.

On the downside, due to the way the site works, if the video uploader has blocked your video from embedding on sites outside of YouTube, the tool will not allow you to view it.

Can you watch a YouTube video without giving it views?

All the sites we list, as well as other similar ones you can find, will give the video a +1 on the view counter.

The only way around this is to use a YouTube downloader, although that is against YouTube’s Terms of Service.

Use of third-party YouTube applications

Using alternate YouTube URLs is only a small part of maximizing your YouTube experience. You can find alternative YouTube apps for Android and iOS, as well as cracked apps that remove ads and other annoyances.

Remember, these are not officially supported sites and could go offline at any time.
