Android 13 Beta 1 finally arrives: here’s how to install it on supported Pixels
Perfectly in line with its schedule, Google abandons the Developer Preview e releases the first beta of Android 13, its next operating system for smartphones and tablets. This Beta 1unlike DP releases, it is much easier to install on supported Google Pixel devices.
To proceed with the installation, just go to the page relating to Android Beta Program: By scrolling down, your device (if compatible) will be shown. By following the instructions proposed, it will be possible to join the beta program and therefore receive the OTA update for this Android 13 Beta 1, as well as for all subsequent versions. Recall that Google provides at least one beta version per month until July: after these, the stable version of the operating system will arrive. Android 13 Beta 1 is compatible with:
- Pixel 4
- Pixel 4 XL
- Pixel 4a
- Pixel 4a (5G)
- Pixel 5
- Pixel 5a
- Pixel 6
- Pixel 6 Pro
Although this release is much more stable than the previous Developer Preview, it could still have more or less serious bugs, therefore we do not recommend installing it on your main smartphone. While waiting to explore the software well, we can talk about the main novelty of this beta, or the new API for granular management of permissions: Apps will now be able to request separate permissions for the type of file they want to access (images and photos, videos and finally audio files).
