Android 13 Beta 1 has a new, lightning-fast QR code scanner

Android 13 Beta 1 arrived a few days ago, and in these days we are discovering the news. One of these concerns the QR code scanning, that we had already glimpsed in January and in the second Developer Preview of Android 13, although it is not yet functional.

Now in the first Beta the new link in Quick Settings dedicated to scanning the QR codes not only is it active, but it is also blazingly fast!

The new link opens a dedicated app, not the camera, without any connection with Google Lens. After framing the code, he recognizes it quickly to then show a button at the bottom of the screen, with the indication of the app that will open.

Unfortunately there is not yet the shortcut to the lock screen that we had anticipated in January, but Mishaal Rahman di Esper.io has found its string (currently inactive), so it may arrive shortly.
