Finally ASUS unveils ROG Phone 6, the brand new gaming smartphone of the famous Taiwanese manufacturer now in its fifth iteration (the 4 has been skipped, as per oriental tradition). As for the previous version, even ROG Phone 6 is doubled: the classic version with the ROG logo illuminated on the back and the ASUS ROG Phone 6 Pro version, equipped with an additional display on the back, arrives, also in Italy, among other things you can already read our full review. Let’s find out everything there is to know about it!

Let’s start with the differences between the two models. ROG Phone 6 goes up to 16GB of RAM, while ROG Phone 6 Pro goes up to 18GB (accompanied by 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage). The Pro version, as mentioned, also has an extra screen on the back: it is a ROG Vision Color PMOLED able to show notifications, gaming or charging animations. The design of both models is in line with that of previous years, although there is no lack of slight innovations. We continue to think that the white color is the most beautiful, also thanks to the addition of various prints and details.

Both models boast however hardware specs to scream. In addition to those you have already seen in the technical data sheet, there is a renewed attention to the audio sector, which translates not only into the presence of the audio jack, but also in the stereo speakers (with two separate amplifiers), in the presence of goodies additional such as i Back Ultrasonic Triggers, and constructive precautions such as the motherboard divided into two parts (like the battery) with dissipating material between the spaces. This year then there is also the IPX4 certification, only against splashes then, but it is already something. As usual then, ASUS takes the opportunity to also renew the accessories park. The AeroActive Cooler 6, the fan to be affixed to the back, this year is very different. There’s a pad with clear plastic that glows, more physical controls, and even tighter temperature monitoring. It is used as usual using the second USB-C port that the ROG Phones are equipped with. There is also an upgrade for the main screen, now at 165 Hz with a sampling rate of 720 Hz.

Some progress has also been made in photographic field, perhaps one of the very few flaws of the ROG Phone family (along with size and weight). The main sensor manages to produce higher quality shots, and even in videos it doesn’t fare so badly. Software side ASUS promises two major updates (up to Android 14 then) and at least two years of security updates.

Output and prices

ASUS ROG Phone 6 in its standard edition it will be pre-orderable as of today 5th July on the official ASUS store bundled with fan AeroActiveCooler 6 (worth € 89.90) in the two colors white and black. The actual availability is scheduled for mid-July, not only on the ASUS eshop but also from Unieuro and in physical ASUS Gold Stores. Meanwhile, let’s see the prices of the smooth ROG Phone 6:
