Better late than never: Samsung Galaxy Xcover 5 gets Android 12

Last year Samsung had launched Galaxy Xcover 5, smartphone rugged successor to the Galaxy Xcover 4 of 2017, but the release of updates (here you can find the Android manufacturers who update the devices the most) was not quite serrata.

But now the South Korean giant has got back on track and released Android 12 And One UI 4.1 for the device. The firmware, identified with the code G525FXXU5BVE5 is in the process of distribution in jars European countries and contains:

• Android 12
• One UI 4.1
• security patch of May 2022 (which resolves over 80 privacy and security vulnerabilities)
• new user interface: Color palette, new widgets, better dark mode, new sharing menu
• new tools for privacy and security thanks to the new privacy dashboard, settings to enable / disable access to the camera and microphone and privacy indicators for active use of the camera and microphone
• improved stock apps: Camera, Calendar, Samsung Internet, Samsung Keyboard and Samsung MyFiles, plus more features for Bixby and Bixby Routines. The Gallery app now has the ability to add a portrait effect to any image with a person in it. Quick Share now it can be used to send Wi-Fi passwords to others. AR Emoji have received various new customization features and options for adding GIFs from Tenor.
