The game looks almost identical to Call of Duty: Legends of War, a game developed by Tencent that launched smoothly on Alpha last year. But the Legends of War motto has obviously been dropped in favor of the mobile name.

However, you can expect what looks like a 60fps game, multiple game modes (eg Team Deathmatch, Frontline, Free for All), and classic Call of Duty maps (such as Nuketown and Crash). The title also will allow you to play as iconic characters from the franchise, like Price and Ghost, if that floats on your ship.

Fans of the mode Black Ops 4 Blackout and other Battle Royale titles might be disappointed by the lack of a similar mode at launch. But Activision has confirmed that there will be more content on Call of Duty Mobile, including a “unique Call of Duty battle royale experience.”

There is also no information about in-app purchases, so we may have to wait a bit to find out if this is a pay-to-win experience. Hopefully Activision’s monetization plan focuses on cosmetic items, rather than paying for better gear and more modes.
