Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 – CD Projekt CEO confirms the release of subsequent patches in January and February

  • In an interview with the Polish Press Agency, the president of CD Projekt, Adam Kiciński, emphasized that work on updates to Cyberpunk 2077 is going according to plan.
  • The next update will be released in January and the next one in February.
  • In addition, Kiciński revealed that he does not know when Cyberpunk 2077 will re-appear on PlayStation Store and that the company has not experienced a mass departure of employees in recent weeks.
  • Although Cyberpunk 2077 turned out to be quite a commercial success and appealed to many players, including many readers of our portal, it cannot be denied that over a month after its premiere, it is still struggling with certain technical problems, especially on old-generation consoles. CD Projekt, however, is not idle and is preparing new updates with the sweat of its brow. As he assured in an interview with the Polish Press Agency Adam Kiciński, work on them is going according to plan and as previously announced, the next patch for the game will debut in January, and the next one in February.

Unfortunately, Kiciński did not reveal what exactly will be included in the upcoming patches. However, he stressed that they would cover all platforms.

During the interview, the president of CD Projekt was also asked about the commotion related to PlayStation Store. As a reminder, a week after the premiere of Cyberpunk 2077, the game was downloaded from the Sony store due to the already mentioned unsatisfactory technical condition. When will the title be back on sale there? To quote Kiciński:

We have no knowledge of a specific date to return to PlayStation Store. We are in constant contact with representatives of Sony Interactive Entertainment and we are working on bringing our title back to the Sony store as soon as possible.

In addition, Kiciński informed that even in the face of some disagreements with the management, the employees did not leave CD Projekt RED en masse. The president does not rule out, however, that some of his subordinates will leave the studio in the future. It is a natural process in the gaming industry after the completion of a several-year project.

Therefore, we have nothing else to do but patiently wait for the development of events, especially since players currently expect not only further updates to Cyberpunk 2077, but also DLC. The first of the free add-ons should be released already soon.
