TemplarGFX user created a mod for the game Cyberpunk 2077which improves the behavior of NPCs wandering around the city – it makes them spin in circles less often, and they better detect obstacles and react to each other (unfortunately they still sometimes disappear for no reason, when we turn around – this is something the author of the mod could not change). A modification called Alternate Crowd Behavior does this through a special .ini file.
You can download the mod from Nexus Mods in two versions – Full and Lite. The first one is more effective, but may negatively affect performance in scenes where CPU power is the most important (with large crowds). The Lite variant tries to improve the character’s behavior and at the same time minimize the impact of the modifications on the smoothness of the game.
Installing the Alternate Crowd Behavior mod is extremely simple – just drop the selected .ini file (only one of them) into the Cyberpunk2077 engine config platform pc directory.
Strange behavior of NPCs is certainly not Cyberpunk 2077’s biggest problem, but sometimes it is conspicuous and can spoil the fun. Undoubtedly, in this respect, the game world is far from the promises made by developers before the premiere, which is well illustrated by the video below, published on the Reddit forum.
