Even the free promotion of GTA 5 on the Epic Games Store did not prevent the game from becoming one of Steam’s bestsellers last week
One of the highlights of last week was the release of the full version of Grand Theft Auto V for free on the Epic Games Store. It turns out, however, that there is a group of PC players who cannot be persuaded to use this store even such an offer.
Despite the free promotion on the Epic Games Store GTA 5 was Steam’s eighth biggest bestseller last week. This game is always doing very well, so some of its high sales were likely a few days before the EGS offering. Nevertheless, the appearance of the position in the top 10 is still surprising.
The promotion on the Epic Games Store turned out to be a technical disaster. The store page fell for hours and many people who managed to add GTA 5 to their account had problems downloading the game afterwards. It is possible that these troubles upset some players so much that they bought this title on Steam impatiently.
Finally, it is worth adding that Grand Theft Auto V can only be obtained in the Epic Games Store until May 21, so we advise those interested to hurry.
