Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S can use the new version of the RAGE engine, running Red Dead Redemption 2. Rummaging through the game’s code, the gtaforums.com forum users – Tez2 and alloc8or – found interesting lines of code that they shared with the community.
In the GTA Online code, among others, the line “rage :: fwuiMessageBase”, which is to correspond to the one in Red Dead Redemption 2 and be an indication that Rockstar Games will transfer to the new version of the engine created for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S GTA Online. Another section, “CHasCharacterToTransferDecisionPage”, suggests the option of transferring created characters between different versions of the game.
Of course, it should be remembered that this is all speculation and even the fact that these two specific users have provided most of the verified information so far does not mean that they are right this time.
GTA 5 is set to hit the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S this year. Rockstar Games, however, has not revealed exactly when it will happen and what improvements we can expect from the new version of this title. I am curious what the developers will come up with, after all, we are dealing with a game that was still created on PS3 and Xbox 360.
