How to enable in-app purchases on jailbroken iPhones / iPod Touch

With firmware 3.0, Apple introduced a new feature for iPhone application developers and it was to allow customers to purchase content from within applications, such as maps, music, or additional content from new games.

If you are on a Jailbroken (jailbroken) iPhone / iPod Touch, you will not be able to make any app purchases, as the jailbreak alters the way apps are verified by developers, and a screen like the one in the image above.

If you have this error, and want to correct it, follow these simple steps:

  • Uninstall the application from which you want to make the purchase.
  • Opens Cydia> Packages> AppSync and uninstall it.
  • Restart the phone.
  • Reinstall the application you removed in step 1 (the Application you want to make in the purchase)
  • Log out of your iTunes account, go to Settings> Store> Sign outthen sign in again using the same method.

You should now be able to make in-app purchases (as long as you don’t have AppSync installed in Cydia).
