If you’re having trouble syncing your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch after upgrading to Windows 10, don’t worry. We will tell you how to fix the problem in just a few clicks, so you can continue syncing your device to your Windows 10 computer.
Apparently the problem is because the Windows 10 update is marking the iTunes folder as read-only, which means that the computer will not allow it to sync with the device you have connected.
Luckily fix the error -54 from iTunes is very simple.
Step 1. Open Windows Explorer.
Step 2. Go to the Music folder.
Step 3. Right click on the iTunes folder.
Step 4. Go to Properties
Step 5. Turn off the option ‘Read only’ on Attributes.
You will see another window open while applying the changes to all the subfolders. If the problem persists, check that you have full control over the iTunes folder. To do this, right-click on the folder again, go to properties, then to security, and finally, click on Edit, choose full control and click the button Apply.
Once this is done, you can use iTunes again to sync your iOS device to your computer.
