How to improve iPhone battery life after updating iOS

Did you update your iPhone / iPad with the latest version of iOS and notice that now the battery charge drains faster? If your answer is yes then this post is for you.

Software updates are always for improvement, be it stability, performance, or security. However, sometimes things go wrong and the update introduces unwanted changes.

One of the most common and feared failures is the loss of battery life. Or put another way, that the battery of the iPhone or iPad lasts less than it lasted before updating.

Fortunately, most of the time the problem can be solved relatively easily.

When the battery drain increases after an update (any update, be it iOS 7.0, iOS 10.2.1, iOS 10.3.1 or any other update) the cause is almost always an application that does not handle the update correctly.

So all you need to do is find that app and deal with it.

Step 1. Go to Settings / Battery and see which app or apps use the most power.

Step 2. Once you identify the application that is consuming the most battery, proceed to close it completely. Double tap on the home button and swipe up to kill the app.

Step 3. Restart the phone by turning it off and on again.

Step 4. If after following the steps above you notice that your iPhone continues to download fast then uninstall the application and restart the device.

Step 5. Reinstall the “problem” app and check the battery life for a couple of days.

If after following all the previous steps the battery of your iOS device continues to drain faster than usual then you should follow these tips.
