How to update applications via iTunes?

I have iTunes on Windows 7 and I want to update an application via iTunes.

All the tutorials I found are for iTunes 11, where there is a clear button at the bottom. This is not the case with iTunes 12. How can I update an application via iTunes?

In iTunes, go to the top left corner and find the bar that shows icons for things like Music, Movies, etc. Click the three-dot button and you should see the applications. From there you will see a button that says “Updates”. Click that, then Update All Applications. For more information, see here.
