OPPO could include wireless charging for the Reno6 series

OPPO brought the Reno5 series to China just three months ago. The company has launched several mobiles within the series, including the flagship Reno5 Pro + 5G. However, none of the smartphones support wireless charging. That’s about to change soon, as the Reno6 series is expected to provide support for 30W wireless charging.

Leaker Digital Chat Station has said that three new series of OPPO Reno6 mobiles are in the final stages of testing. He expects an early release this year, and considering that we are getting the information only three months after the December 2020 release, we can wait towards the end of the first semester or the beginning of the second semester of 2021.

Anyway, he hasn’t said anything about the phone naming scheme. However, if we follow the previous record, we can expect them to be Reno6, Reno6 Pro and Reno6 Pro +. These are just our guesses, so let’s wait for the official word. Regardless, it also says that OPPO will finally bring wireless charging technology to the upper-middle segment of Android phones.

If this turns out to be true, OPPO’s affordable Reno6 series will support wireless charging. Specifically, it says that mobiles will support up to 65W fast wired charging (should be SuperVOOC 3.0) and 30W wireless charging.

OPPO recently introduced the Find X3 series of mobiles and the phones support AirVOOC Flash Charge charging protocol up to 30W. This company has already launched a 45W AirVOOC charger and it could help OPPO sell the Reno6 series in the future, even if the overall price increases a bit.

It is too early to comment on the specifications of the Reno6 series of mobiles, but looking at the predecessors, we think that OPPO could continue with the Qualcomm + MediaTek combo. That said, the top-of-the-line flagship will most likely feature Qualcomm’s next-gen flagship processor just like the Reno5 Pro + 5G.
