INDIKA: Launch day on consoles!

INDIKA, an arthouse adventure game about faith, God, and religion, is set to release tomorrow on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Publisher 11 bit studios and developer Odd Meter have compiled the weirdest elements of their unique game into a brand new “11 Facts” trailer.

Unsurprisingly, given the many misleading elements in the game’s design and storyline, this video is anything but ordinary. After all, nuns of the Russian Orthodox Church are not common heroines in video games, just as prayer is not a common game mechanic. The “11 Facts” trailer even features INDIKA’s traveling companion, the devil himself, who whispers profanities in your ear throughout the game.

Blending gameplay elements from adventure games including puzzling environmental puzzles and even a dash of platforming, INDIKA offers much more than meets the eye. Already released on PC, the game has captivated the public and critics, with an overall score of 80/100.

The aesthetic, design and gameplay ofINDIKA are heavily influenced by its mix of genres, but its true essence lies in its cinematic storytelling that recalls the arthouse works of Yorgos Lanthimos, Ari Aster, and Darren Aronofsky. INDIKA focuses on its main objective by addressing philosophical beliefs and aiming to provoke thought on delicate themes.

INDIKA is available on PC and will launch on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 on May 17. Part of the revenue generated by INDIKA will be donated to help children affected by the war in Ukraine.
