MonoNX: The Nintendo Switch Emulator Coming Soon to Android

Nintendo’s hybrid game console, Nintendo switch, has been well received by the general public. The game console sold more than 32 million units worldwide at the end of 2018. Many of its sales were generated due to exclusive game titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Smash Bros: Ultimate, Pokemon: Let’s Go And some others.

If you’ve been eager to play these exclusive Switch titles on your Android phone… you can’t yet. But you will be glad to know that work is being done to bring a Nintendo Switch emulator to Android; although it will be a long time before you can start playing on it.

XDA member Cyubii MonoNX is an extremely experimental Nintendo Switch emulator for Android. In its current state, the emulator does not show any graphs, only the console output. Due to its experimental state, it also runs very slowly and runs only on the old homebrew. In its current state, you cannot play any games on it. The application is open source; so if you can, consider contributing to the development of the project.

Hi, I’ve been working on this for a few days and I thought I’d finally show it off!

Please note that there is *** absolutely no graphics ***, only console output! Also, it’s very slow (only runs at about 0.3-0.2 fps for me) and only runs on old Homebrew (eg early Libtransistor tests and the like). ‘

What Android do you need to play Nintendo Switch?

Created by the Ryujinnx team with the help of ctrninja, MonoNX it only needs an Android phone with an ARM64 computer and at least 4GB memory to work. That’s a good starting point for anyone who wants to get their Switch game through anything other than a Switch; Although we can’t imagine many Nintendo gamers who have yet to get a real Switch.

That means that probably we are far from being something we will use on our own Android phones, but the fact that the job is getting done should be enough for anyone who’s been wondering. Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to play you some Nintendo Switch games, you know, on a Nintendo Switch. The only problem we have is choosing which of the best games to play first!
