Qualcomm once again promises to make the processor Wear OS deserves


Qualcomm is a name of particular relevance in the smarpthone sector because it produces most of the processors for this type of devices, especially the top of the range. However, the US company is also active in the smartwatch components sector.

According to the most recent rumors that have emerged on the net, Qualcomm could even launch two new models within the Snapdragon Wear 5100 series. These would be the brand new Snapdragon Wear 5100 And Snapdragon Wear 5100+made using the a 4 nm by Samsung Foundry.

Currently no processor for wearable devices on the market is made with a 4 nm process: Samsung’s Exynos W920, which we find in the Galaxy Watch 4 series, is made with the 5 nm process; while Apple’s S7 chipset is made using TSMC’s 7nm process, and lo Snapdragon Wear 4100+ Qualcomm is manufactured using a 12nm process.

If the new Snapdragon Wear 5100 were really made with the 4nm process then it would mean a noticeable increase in performance compared to their previous generation and competitors on the market, as well as one better efficiency energy.
